Index fragmentation occurs in the form of gaps in data pages and logical fragmentation. Index fragmentation affects the performance of SQL Server, so it is recommended to monitor the level of fragmentation. Mainly SQL Server maintains indexes after any data modifications, still, maintenance of indexes is still required, due to Fragmentation. Indexes play an important role as they are one of the important aspects of high performance in SQL Server.

The main function of a database administrator (DBA) is to maintain the database. Doing that is unneeded if your ps3 worked fine in the first place (with other games or so), won't be harmful most of times but is not needed for this.Modified: T16:50:04+05:30 | 5 Minutes Reading It might not solve the freezing but a pick up in data retrieval helps the PS3 to run better, especially on engine heavy games likes GTAV/O.Įxactly, the thing is that game's "corrupt" files only are fixed by reinstalling the game and not restoring the file system. You need to do both rebuild and restore file system to repair the damage that a freeze causes. If you're PS3 has frozen the build up of corrupt files are not cleared with just a rebuild, rebuilding does not speed up the data retrieval process, which is what restoring the file system does. Wrong my friend, I've tested that, trust me, I've done extensive testing about this.
You need to restore the file system while in recovery mode too, it's well and good rebuilding the database but it's the build up of corrupt files that is the main issue. NOTE: I don't own a xbox, nor ever did so I don't know if this works in any way, if it's doable also and anyone tries it please post results here. Hope this helps, please post your results providing your PS3 model, so far it worked flawlessly for me.

It's possible that 1.14 brings the freezing back, it already happened to me with 1.13, if that happens just repeat the steps above. Hello there, I see people is still having trouble so I decided making a tutorial, confirmed working for me in both PS3 fat and super slim.ġ.- Delete all patches file in your Game data utility folder.Ģ.- Uninstall GTA, same folder (don't worry about savegames, are still saved, PS3 uses other folder).ģ.- Turn ps3 off and go into recovery menu, then choose "Rebuild database", it's completely safe but you will lose your messages and playlists (NOTE: PS3's inbox messages and music playlists, nothing to do with GTA).Ĥ.- Reinstall everything while connected to online (so it downloads and installs patches first).ĥ.- Play your game, don't try to rebuild database again (I tested it and freezing came back).
